Non-BSAC Divers

Whatever agency you trained with, you are more than welcome to join and come diving with us. All divers who trained with other agencies will have to attend a workshop to get to know the BSAC decompression tables and get a Statement of Alternative Training (SALT) sticker signed by the Diving Officer and stuck in your logbook.

Cross over to Ocean Diver

The following 'entry level' qualifications are equivalent to BSAC Ocean Diver:

• CMAS One Star Diver
• NASDS Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver
• NAUI Scuba Diver and Advanced Scuba Diver
• PADI Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and AOWD Plus
• Royal Navy Ships Diver
• SAA Open Water Diver
• SSI Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver

We encourage all our divers to become at least Sports Divers, so crossovers to Ocean Diver should attend the pool sessions and Sports Diver lectures.

Cross over to Sports Diver

The following qualifications are equivalent to BSAC Sports Diver:

• CMAS Two Star Diver
• HSE Commercial Diver: HSE Scuba Diver / HSE Surface Supply Diver / HSE Surface Supply (Top Up)Diver / HSE Closed Bell Diver (formerly HSE Diver Part 4, 3, 1 and 2 respectively).
• NASDS Rescue Diver
• NAUI Scuba Rescue Diver
• PADI Rescue Diver
• SAA Club Diver
• SSAC Third Class Diver
• SSI Advanced Open Water Diver with 'Stress and Rescue' Speciality
• Army Compressed Air Diver

 

If you want to improve your diving skills you can do your Dive Leader qualification. Contact the Extended Training Officer for more information.

Cross over to Dive Leader

The following qualifications are equivalent to BSAC Dive leader:

• NASDS Dive Supervisor
• NAUI Divemaster
• PADI Divemaster
• SAA Dive Leader
• SSAC Second Class Diver
• SSI Dive Control Specialist

The following qualifications are equivalent to BSAC Advanced Diver:

• CMAS Three Star Diver
• SAA Dive Supervisor

 

Continuing Your Diver Training

There will be plenty of opportunities for you to continue your training, whatever your current qualification. We will be running Skill Development Courses throughout the year. There will also be lots of diving trips so check News and Events regularly.

If you are an experienced diver Instructor Training is an option, with divers of Sports Diver standard and above able to start with the BSAC Instructor Foundation Course and assist with pool training.
