New Members

If you've coming to Bristol in 2008, welcome! We're sure you'll have a fantastic three or more years here, but remember there's more to university than just studying... and for us it's definitely diving!

What can UBUC offer me?

If you've never dived before UBUC can train you to dive and award an internationally recognised qualification so you can dive worldwide! If you're already a qualified diver you can continue your training with us, have a look at our training pages to find out more. We don't just teach diving, we regularly organise other courses and you can learn how to drive a boat, use a VHF radio, take underwater photos, extend your dives with nitrox, read a nautical chart... see our extended training pages to find out more.

It's not just about collecting badges, we have a packed diving calendar with trips most weekends. Once you're qualified you can dive with us and see ship wrecks, reefs, pretty fish, seals, porpoises... read all about it here.

If you're really enthusiastic about diving you can learn to be an instructor (looks great on your CV!) and teach the next set of new divers. You can start off helping out in the pool as an Assistant Instructor and then, once you pass your exams, you can become a Nationally Qualified Instructor, read more here.

We also have plenty of fun above the water with socials organised by our vice president where you can get to know everyone in the club.

Fresher's Fair

If you want to find out more about what we do the easiest way is to find our stall at FRESH on the 2nd and 3rd of October. FRESH is in the Students' Union building, number 80 on this map, and our stall will be number AG13 on the fifth floor in the Avon Gorge room.

Introductory Meeting

If you miss us at FRESH we will be having an introductory meeting at 6:30 on 7th October where you can find out all about the club. This will be in the Arts Studio, on the sixth floor of the Students' Union. It can be difficult to find so look out for members of our committee who will be around to help those who.

Still can't find us?

If you still haven't found us contact the committee who will arrange a time to meet with you.
