Semi-Dry suits for PK
As you know the semi-dry suit sale is this Friday (29th of Feb) at 6:30 in the Union room MR5 D. If you’re planning on coming to PK can I strongly suggest that you go to this as it will be your easiest opportunity to buy a semi-dry at a reasonable price by PK. If however for any reason you can’t attend you’ll need to sort out your own suit in which case I’ve written up a few brief tips to make sure that you buy an appropriate suit for British diving and some places where could source them.
Any semi-dry suit you get for British diving should be a TWO PIECE (i.e. main suit and over jacket) each being ideally 7mm thick for a total of 14mm of neoprene covering your torso. As well as this you’ll need either a separate or integrated neoprene hood. Don’t be fooled by a dive shop owner telling you that the 7mm single piece suit or the 5mm two pieces that he’s got will do. Believe me he’s far more interested in shifting his stock than in your comfort in cold water. However you choose to source your suit it is VITAL that you have it by the 27th of March so make sure whoever you buy it from can supply it by then.

- Mares Thermic (this suit will be colder as it’s only 5mm + 7mm)
- Northern Diver Delta Omega (this suit will be colder as it’s only 5.5mm + 6.5mm)
- Northern Diver DeltaFlex (this suit will be colder as it’s only 5.5mm + 6.5mm)
